You may find the following pension-related websites and contact details useful:
The Government has introduced a ‘guidance guarantee’ that all individuals with a defined contribution pension scheme will be offered free and impartial guidance at the point of retirement. This:
- covers a range of options to help you make sound decisions and take informed action, whether that’s seeking further advice or purchasing a product
- tells you about the different types of pension and what you can do with your pension pot - what’s tax-free and what’s not
- is offered face to face by Citizens Advice or by phone from The Pensions Advisory Service.
If you’re still unsure about your options, we recommend you speak to a financial adviser.
You can find one in your local area on the Unbiased website. Please note, financial advisers will usually charge a fee for their services.
The Pensions Advisory Service (TPAS) is an independent voluntary organisation set up to give free help and advice on occupational or personal pension issues.
Phone number: 0300 123 1047
If TPAS is unable to help, you can contact the Pensions Ombudsman, who can investigate and determine any complaint or dispute of fact or law.
