Could you spot a deepfake?

The Sainsbury’s team responsible for information security has been compiling a suite of videos to help us all identify and deal with a variety of scams – including the growing use of ‘deepfakes’.

These are videos where someone’s likeness has been digitally manipulated to make it look like they’re doing or saying something they never did. Check out this video of a Tom Cruise deepfake, which is scarily realistic.

So, how do you spot a deepfake? In this video, professional visual effects artists explain what to look out for.

The Information Security team has also pulled together a collection of videos about how to keep yourself safe online, which you can watch below:

What’s your password?

How private is your personal information?

This video from ActionFraud shows how much of our personal information is out in the open.

Password managers – how safe are they?
