There is a Sainsbury’s pension for you, regardless of which grade you are working at.

You can make regular contributions to your pension and Sainsbury’s will also help you save for your retirement by making contributions too. Find out more by looking at the summary leaflet for your pension online.

Sainsbury’s Retirement Savings Plan
Colleagues of all grades, and up to age 75, can join the Sainsbury’s Retirement Savings Plan.

Sainsbury’s Self-Invested Pension Plan
This plan was closed in January 2023 and members were transferred into the Sainsbury’s Retirement Savings Plan.

Sainsbury’s Pension Scheme
This Scheme has now closed to new members and has two sections:

  • One for former Sainsbury’s colleagues who had built up a pension in the Scheme prior to 2013 – the Sainsbury’s Section. (If you were actively working for the Company in 2013, you may have joined one of our other pensions – see the Sainsbury’s Retirement Savings Plan.)
  • One for former members of the HRG Pension Scheme, which merged with the Sainsbury’s Pension Scheme in March 2018 – the Argos Section.
